Job Summary
The incumbent assists the Certified Athletic Trainer in preventing, examining and treating athlete's injuries. He/he also assists with the supervision and coordination of the University's sports medicine program.Knowledge Skills and Abilities

- Assist with planning, developing and implementing the athletic training program which includes preventing, assessing, rehabilitating and treating all injuries that the student-athletes may acquire while playing for any of the 15 sports (250 + student-athletes).
- Assist with running a proper health care facility with the proper working equipment, materials and supplies needed to comply with NATA standards.
- Assist with developing overall sports medicine program for the University, including: injury prevention programs, injury evaluations, injury management, injury treatment and rehabilitation, educational programs and counseling for student-athletes
- Provide athletic training services for the University's athletic department, including attendance at scheduled team practices and home and away competitions as necessary
- Assist with coordinating and scheduling physical examinations and medical referrals for student-athletes to determine their ability to practice and compete
- Work in conjunction with the strength and conditioning staff to ensure safety in the design and implementation of fitness, nutrition and conditioning programs customized to meet individual student-athlete needs
- Assist with scheduling and coordinating athletic training staff and students for athletic training services of all team practices and athletic competitions
- Evaluate and recommend new techniques and equipment that would enhance the benefit of the sports medical program
