Primary Purpose of the Position:
Assist all student-athletes with medical injuries, preventive care, administer testing for student-athletes. Assist Department of Health, Physical Education and Sports Studies (HPSS) in teaching 6 hours.
Preferred Years Experience,Skills, Training , Education:
Applicants must have a Bachelor's degree in athletic training, health, physical education, exercise science, or a related field. A master's degree in a related field is a must, as this position will require teaching 6 credit hours in our HPSS Department.
The candidate must be able to communicate effectively and build a positive rapport with college-level student-athletes, coaches, and physicians. The candidate must also follow all state practicing regulations and any applicable guidelines set forth by the National Athletic Trainers' Association Board of Certification. The candidate will also be mindful of and adhere to all NCAA/CIAA rules and regulations.
At least one year of athletic training experience, the ability to teach and develop the skills of student interns, and the ability to work alongside other healthcare and medical professionals are necessary. Strong interpersonal skills are also necessary.
