Job Summary:
The Wellness Center Manager is responsible for overseeing events, activities, building maintenance, maintaining equipment, supervision of staff, and supervision of all participants in the Wellness Center. The Manager of the Wellness Center has an overall responsibility for compliance of University policies and procedures and state or federal mandates for responsibility areas. These tasks are to be performed in a manner that professionally, cordially, and efficiently assists the students, faculty, staff, and visitors who come in contact with the Wellness Center.
Description of Job Duties:
- Responsible for the effective and efficient development and utilization of the Department's budgetary funds, this includes overseeing and accountability for all financial records from organizational accounts.
- Monitor and check participants of the Wellness Center for memberships (students, faculty, administration, or staff) and nonmembers.
- Responsible for the scheduling of room rental/usage both internal and external. Complete contracts with outside agencies and secure rental fees as appropriate and ensure liability insurances are obtained.
- Monitor the scheduling of activities for students, faculty, and staff including after-hour Intramural events for each semester.
- Block/schedule fields or courts for each event.
- Monitor the set-up, tear down, and clean-up of events in coordination with attending and supervising all events held including evenings and weekend events.
- Supervise the publicity for teams and participant sign-ups and promote opportunities for all students to participate.
- Assist in interviewing, hiring, and scheduling of officials for each event.
- Train officials regarding rules of the sport and Wellness Center so that they will be competent in their duties. Monitor officials so that each team has the same opportunity for success.
- Aid with disciplinary issues to ensure officials and team members are treated fairly.
- Ensure the safety of students and employees by stopping games held outside in inclement weather, as well as by ensuring maintenance and repair of equipment and buildings.
- Assist with hiring and training student employees regarding the operations of the facility, cleanliness of equipment and facility, customer service etiquette, and safety and maintenance of equipment.
- Instruct students regarding the use of the climbing wall. Schedule training for student workers regarding safety and procedures of the climbing wall.
- Assist in developing additional opportunities for wellness and sport engagement for students, faculty, and staff.
- Promote a positive image of SWOSU through any campus-wide or community events, meetings, or committee memberships.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Available to assist with situations during or after working hours whether in-person, by phone, or email contact.
- Assist all intramural events during or after working hours.
- Assist with events scheduled on weekends.
- Assist other departmental staff during the times needed.
- Promote personal safety, safety procedures, and a safe work environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Terms of Employment:
- Employment at will.
- 12-month employee.
- Reports to and collaborates with the Vice-President of Student Services.
- Safety and job-related trainings will be completed as instructed.
- Wage to be established by SWOSU's wage structure.
- Full Time - Exempt.
- Requires onsite availability at the Wellness Center, Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at a minimum, but as stated previously may need to be available after hours during special events or in certain situations.

Education and Experience
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree required. Master's or equivalent problem-solving degree is desirable.
- Five years of experience in management in such areas as property management, facilities operations, auxiliary services, safety, and/or security.
- Effective oral and written communication skills. Ability to manage personnel resources.
- Understanding of organizational principles related to complex coordination, consultation, and operational functions, especially within areas such as management, education, administration, purchasing, inventory/property oversight, and control systems.
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the President of SWOSU or his/her designee may find appropriate.
