Job Summary
Plans, develops, manages, coordinates and directs all programs for the Campus Recreation Department. Lead and mentor assigned student staff. This position will maintain a high standard of customer service, risk management, professionalism, and respect. Responsibilities include but are not limited to training, scheduling , providing feedback, and hiring of front desk staff and program staff. This position must use problem solving skills and delegate duties as needed to maintain a safe and effective environment for participants and staff. Enforce facility and program policies. Facilitate appropriate programs that address the physical, cognitive, and social needs of the student population in a safe environment. Assist with the development of specific program topics, by ensuring all appropriate and necessary supplies are available at the time of delivery. The Program Coordinator will train and supervise the student front desk and program staff.Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in physical education, recreation, human performance, or similar discipline from an accredited institution.
- One to two years' of experience in administration, management and operation of a programs to meet a diverse population on a college campus or equivalent. Using a combination of education and experience. Graduate experience can be counted towards the year's of experience.
- Ability to create new programs to meet University mission and monitor and improve current programs.
- Experience in managing student employees and multiple events at one time.
- Ability to successfully train and supervise student employees and part-time professional staff.
- Ability to undertake risk management assessments of fitness facilities and programs and make appropriate recommendations to ensure compliance.
- CPR, First Aid certifications or must be able to attain within 6 months of hire.
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree preferred.Will this position require driving (personal vehicle, university vehicle, utility vehicle, or golf cart) in order to perform the job duties?
Driving may be necessary but is not a primary responsibility
Work Hours: 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m or adjusted hours to accommodate programs that are offered throughout the semester. Morning, nights, and weekends may be expected during necessary times to accomplish program operation and functions.
