Location: New Orleans, LA
SummaryThe Aquatics Coordinator will assist with the day-to day operations of the aquatic facilities which include an indoor Olympic size pool, outdoor pool, and sun deck. This position hires, trains, schedules, supervises, and evaluates, swim lesson instructors. Primary responsibilities include the development, implementation, and promote aquatic programs to include Learn to Swim Lessons, Scuba Diving Courses, and facility rentals with the goal of increasing revenue from these programs. In addition to program duties, this position is vital member of a Campus Recreation team of professional staff and will assist in developing and facilitating the growth of recreational programs for the University community, promoting departmental programs, and assisting with departmental special events. This position ensures safe aquatic operations, and accurate dissemination and enforcement of facility policies and procedures. They are to provide first responder skills as needed according to the Emergency Response Plan. Additional responsibilities include, but not limited to, routine safety and facility inspections, assisting with the setup, execution, and breakdown of special events and facility reservations.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:- Ability to work as part of a professional team and to collaborate effectively with colleagues
- Ability to think critically and exercise decision-making skills
- Demonstrated strong interpersonal skill and ability to relate to diverse user groups Ability to exercise fiscal integrity and accuracy with cash deposits
- Current certifications in CPR and First Aid
Required Education and/or Experience:- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 2 years of relevant job experience.
Preferred Qualifications:- Bachelor's Degree in Recreation, Sport Administration or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience in supervision of facilities and facilities staff.
- Certification in CPR for the Professional Rescuer and First Aid
