Position Description
The purpose of this position is to assist the Director of the Outdoor Fellows Program in program development, marketing, and recruitment.
Essential Job Duties
- Actively recruit potential Outdoor Fellows both in-state and out-of-state; advise candidates in the admissions process; travel to regional area high schools and events for purposes of recruiting.
- Create meaningful educational experiences that allow students to explore and cultivate their interests in outdoor sports and conservation, such as, but not limited to, field trips, lectures, and community service opportunities.
- Manage the scholarship award process; prepare letters to send to applicants; communicate awards to Admissions and Financial Aid.
- Assist in completing travel paperwork as needed.
- Assist in the Outdoor Fellows social media campaign.
- Seek, develop, and maintain relationships with professionals in the outdoor sports field that can serve as a mentor and/or provide outdoor opportunities to program participants.
- Advise the Director of program activities.
- Perform general equipment maintenance and logistics for pre-trip planning and post-trip cleanup.
- Identify and secure funding opportunities, such as grants, donations, and sponsorships, to increase the number of available scholarships and program activities.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university.
