DescriptionPosition Summary Walsh University, a private Catholic university in North Canton, Ohio, is seeking a qualified candidate for a full-time Athletic Media & Operations Coordinator. This position will lead and support efforts to enhance coverage of all intercollegiate sports by managing statistical and game operation needs, creating media content for teams and student-athletes, developing promotional materials and publications, and providing public communications media with background information on all sports. The role leads/supervises student workers and also supports game-day operations on campus.
Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Lead digital media initiatives with the Director of Athletic Communications to support all Walsh athletic programs and Walsh athletic events.
- Generate weekly releases, highlighting Cavalier sports and upcoming events on Walsh Athletics webpage.
- Accumulate statistical data for institutional use, as well as G-MAC and the NCAA.
- Coordinate audio/video streaming of Walsh home events to be viewed on Flo College.
- Lead, coordinate and execute media sessions for all sports alongside the Director of Athletic Communications.
- Support Asst. AD for Operations in all aspects of managing home athletic events.
- Supervise student workers for all home athletic events.
- Collaborate with the Walsh University Marketing and Admissions Office.
- Responsible for abiding by NCAA II compliance rules and legislation. Failure to comply by NCAA II rules will be grounds for discipline and/or termination.
- Assist with athletic department media relations, including, game recaps, feature stories, and announcements
- Assist with maintaining the athletic department website and updating rosters, schedules, news, and statistics
- Create engaging digital content for athletic programs
- Support game-day operations, including setup, staffing and event logistics
- Other duties as assigned or required.

Education: Bachelor's Degree required. Degree in sports management, communication or graphic design preferred.
Work Experience: 2 years minimum experience in the sports media and operations field.
Skills and abilities: - Professional demeanor and ability to interact with charity towards students, staff and faculty. Positive attitude a must.
- Well-versed in website production/management (especially SIDEARM Sports)
- Experience stating contests specifically in Genius Sports
- Knowledgeable in graphic design including software like Adobe Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator
- Live-streaming experience. Familiarity with Production Truck, Hudl and FloCollege is preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication and organizational skills
- Established ability on how to prioritize and complete multiple tasks to meet deadlines
- Ability to travel, and work non-traditional hours, including evenings, weekends and holidays for games and events.
- Organizational skills, time management, and the ability to handle multiple priorities at once
- Problem-solving, adaptability, and attention to detail in a fast-paced, event-driven environment
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
