Primary Function of Organizational UnitThe NCCU Department of Athletics' primary purpose is to provide leadership for an NCAA Division I intercollegiate athletics program. The NCCU Department of Athletics places the highest priority on a quality academic and athletic experience as part of the overall education of student- athletes. The Department of Athletics seeks to strengthen the integration of the athletics program objectives with academic development objectives.Primary Purpose of PositionThe Director of Development drives the strategic vision and execution of comprehensive fundraising efforts for the Department of Athletics while serving as a vital member of the Executive Leadership Team.Required Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesProven skills in meeting goals for contributions, corporate sponsorships and major gifts for an Intercollegiate Athletics program. The candidate must possess outstanding oral and written communication skills. Preferred experience in using Raiser's Edge, ticketing system software, and Adobe software packages.Minimum Education/ExperienceA bachelor's degree is required, with a master's degree strongly preferred.
