Key Responsibilities:
Facility & Staff Oversight:
- Oversee daily operations of the Fitness Center, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment.
- Supervise and manage approximately 20 student employees working in the Fitness Center and Intramural programs.
- Develop and maintain the weekly staff schedule using online scheduling software.
- Serve as a liaison between student staff and the Assistant Director of Campus Recreation, addressing concerns and facilitating communication.
- Step in to cover open shifts in the Fitness Center when necessary.
- Be the point of contact between Asst. Director and the work-study employees
Intramural Program Management:
- Oversee and supervise Intramural Sports leagues Monday–Thursday from 8:00 PM – 11:00 PM during active sessions.
- Ensure proper staffing of Intramural Officials, troubleshooting late arrivals or absences.
- Provide on-site leadership during intramural game nights, addressing conflicts and ensuring smooth operations.
Marketing & Outreach:
- Assist in the creation of marketing materials and advertisements for Intramural programs and Campus Recreation events.
- Update and manage the department’s Instagram page using Canva software to promote programs and engagement.
Problem Solving & Administrative Support:
- Respond to and resolve staffing issues, including no-shows or last-minute shift coverage needs.
- Support the Assistant Director of Campus Recreation with administrative tasks as needed.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Must be enrolled in a graduate program at American International College.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and occasional weekends.
- Preferred: Lives on or near campus for shift coverage and on-site responsibilities.
- Experience with Canva or other marketing/design software is a plus.
- CPR certification (or willingness to obtain certification within three months of hire).
